Student Council 2009-2010
Student Council is a service organization whose purpose is to plan and implement events, which provide a social and philanthropic outlet for the student body. Student Council is responsible for planning Dances and Spirit Days. Beyond this, Student Council promotes student involvement in helping others in our community by raising funds in the annual Pennies for Patients
drive benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The club also strives to increase student awareness of Sundling activities and events. Student Council accepts any student who is committed to improving the Sundling experience. The club will hold a general election exclusive to club member input. Committees will be formed and will be charged with the responsibility of brainstorming and implementing new ideas. Each student must volunteer for a committee that will help carry out these projects. Each committee chooses a chairperson who will be responsible for organizing the students on that committee. We meet every other Thursday.
School Dances
Dance Permission Form
Student Council sponsors school dances, after school events, held to provide students a social outlet outside of the school day. The dances are designed to maximize student attendance by appealing to a broad audience. There will be three dances per year. They will always take place on a Friday from 6-8pm. Permission slips will be sent home and no child will be admitted without a signed form. Tickets will be sold prior to the dance during lunch periods as well as at the door. Parents are required to pick up students promptly at 8pm. Failure to do so will prevent students from attending future dances. As these dances are Sundling sponsored events, all school rules apply and students will be held to PBIS standards.
