Parent Orientation

7:00pm-8:40pm

On behalf of the Walter Sundling Staff, it is our privilege to invite you to attend our school's annual Parent Orientation on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 7:00pm to 8:40pm. This event presents an opportunity for parents to familiarize themselves with their student's schedule, teachers, and academic expectations.

A school map and a copy of your child's schedule will be sent home with your student. Please discuss the schedule in advance with your child in order to obtain information as to where classes are located. PLEASE BRING THAT SCHEDULE AND MAP TO PARENT ORIENTATION.

All parents should report to their student’s first period class. Parent Orientation will start with a short PTA meeting, which will be broadcast into the classroom. At 7:30pm parents will begin class visitations. Each class will be five minutes in length with five minutes of passing time between the periods.

During the lunch periods, please follow your guide to the Resource*Technology Center to become acquainted with the technological resources available at Sundling. In addition, it will be an opportunity for Mr. Mark Baker to share with you the procedures that will be followed for Internet use. It is district policy that all parents must attend an informational meeting before their students may have school access to the Internet. In order to accommodate parent time commitments, we felt it would be helpful to provide the Internet/Technology parent meeting at Parent Orientation during your child's "lunch period."

Refreshments, provided by our PTA, will be served in the school cafeteria after the classroom visitations. The entire staff of Walter Sundling looks forward to your visit and welcomes any questions that you may have regarding our programs and activities. We are definitely looking forward to our continued relationships with our parents and for their being a PARTNER IN LEARNING with us.

Sincerely,

Yvette Davidson
Principal
