Most Sundling Jr. High School students will go on to attend District 211 high schools, either William Fremd High School or Palatine High School.

FRESHMAN REGISTRATION TIMELINE

High School District 211 mails EXPLORE-placement test information to the parents of 8th grade students.

Spanish-speaking College Fair

District 211 sends the Master Enrollment Mailing to students.
 
Nov
High Schools pick up enrollment/registration materials from Sundling students during lunch hours.
 
Dec
EXPLORE test is administered. Students should arrive at their high school by 7:45am.
Deadline for enrollment materials to be turned in.

Incoming Freshman Parent Night Invitations mailed to eighth grade families.
 
Jan
EXPLORE test results and elective Course Selection sheets mailed to 8th grade families.
 
Jan
High school counselors from PHS and FHS will visit 8th grade classes during 9th hour for orientation sessions.

Incoming Freshman Parent Night at Fremd and Palatine High Schools. Parents only please! 7:00pm

High School Placement Test

All students entering 9th grade at a District 211 school must take a placement test. Students will be placed in high school classes using placement test results and recommendations from junior high school teachers.

Students will be taking the EXPLORE Test, part of the ACT Test series. The test includes the following sub-areas:

Interest Inventory, English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science
