End-of-Year
Activities 2010
The end of the school year is a very busy time! Here is some info
to help keep you organized.
End-of-year activities require much advance planning. Here's some advance information about graduation in 2010.
Graduation pictures are Thursday, February 25 beginning at 8:00am
More picture information will follow shortly. No money is required up front. Proofs will be sent to students' homes.
Grad picture retakes are Friday, March 19 beginning at 8:00am
Grad robe fittings are Thursday, March 18 beginning at 8:00am
No money is required up front. Parents were billed $15 with their book/materials/technology fees in August. Parents can check to see if they have paid this fee by visiting District 15's online payment center. If this has not been paid parents should do that now.
Volunteer Opportunity
Teacher Kelly Wilcox is currently seeking three or four parent volunteers to assist with graduation robe fittings on Thursday, March 18. If you are available to help for a whole day or a half day, please contact Mrs. Wilcox directly at 847-963-3725 or wilcoxk@ccsd15.net.

science teachers, are seeking twelve (12) parent volunteers to pick-up, wash and
dry our 8th Grade Activity Night T-Shirts on Tuesday, June 1. The shirts need
to be returned, before school, on Wednesday, June 2. If you are available to help, please contact Kevin Keehn at KeehnK@ccsd15.net or
847-963-3752 as soon as possible. Thank you in advance!

6:00pm-9:00pm
Students enjoy a dance, pizza, and maybe
volleyball or other activities. It is for 8th graders
only from our school. They wear tie dyed tee-shirts that have been
created
in their science classes so the dress is
casual - shorts and tee-shirts.
8th Grade Picnic/Field Day Celebration - Thursday, June 3 from 11:00am-2:30pm
8th grade only and it is a field day with lots of different
activities for students. It begins around 11:00am and goes
until the end of the
day. Food will be provided
- burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks. If you have special dietary concerns, please contact the school.
Last Day of School for 8th Graders - Friday, June 4
Dismissed at 10:25am after a final graduation practice. Bus transportation will be provided for those students who normally ride a bus.
8th Grade Graduation - Friday, June 4 at Fremd High School in the gym
Graduation begins at 7:00pm and has no scheduled end time - depends on those
long-winded
speakers. Ha! In the past it has usually ended sometime close to 9:00pm.
In order to set the appropriate tone for graduation, eighth graders will be wearing a graduation robe. We ask that boys wear dress slacks, a shirt and tie, and dress shoes under their robes. Girls are asked to wear a dress or dress pants and dress shoes.
This year we have once again contracted with a professional photographer to photograph our students as they receive their diplomas. This will assist us in preventing a disruption to the ceremony, which has been expressed as a concern by parents of previous graduates. After graduation, a sample photograph will be forwarded to you from Chappell Studios with purchase information. There is no obligation to purchase a picture.
A total of six tickets per family will begiven for the graduation ceremony. If you need handicapped seating for any of your six tickets, please contact Mrs. Prebil, school nurse, at 847-963-3702. Handicapped seating will be available on the main level of the gym. Graduation tickets will be distributed to students at school.

- Tuesday, June 8
Dismissed at 10:25am.

More end-of-year information
to follow by letter to 8th grade parents.
