Chorus 2009-2010

Do you like to sing? Be a part of the choral tradition at WRS! Year after year the Chorus sings its way to resounding applause and high ratings.

Chorus is comprised of both seventh and eighth grade students. Participation is open to all students who have an interest in singing.

Here's what you need to know to know:

REHEARSALS: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at 7:00am

FIRST REHEARSAL: Wednesday, September 2, 2009.

Chorus Handbook 2009-2010

First of all, your son/daughter has made a fantastic decision to join Chorus. WRS has a history of an excellent Chorus and this year will be no exception. I attached our handbook to an email. Our performance calendar is also in the handbook. Please mark the dates down on your family's calendar. All performances are required. The handbook outlines the policies regarding attendance, tardies, and performances. If you did not receive this email please contact me. Your student received a hard copy at rehearsal. Please read the handbook, sign the contract at the end and fill out the medical form on the reverse side of the contract. There is also a $25 fee for participation in Chorus. Please return the contract/medical form and your check.

Your child will receive an order form for a Chorus T-shirt and/or hoodie. All Chorus members must have a T-shirt for our more casual performances. If you are a returning eighth grader, you do not have to purchase one unless you want a new one or need a different size. The purchase of a hoodie is optional.

Fundraising

This year's annual car wash will be on Saturday, September 12, 10am-2pm.

The WRS Music Department has been participating in a wonderful, easy fundraiser for the past year or so. It is through an online organization called 2 Click Fundraising at www.2ClickFundraising.com. The best thing about this way of raising money for a worthy cause is that it costs you NOTHING. The second best thing is that you basically have to do nothing, except make two extra clicks when you order online. The hardest part of the whole thing is simply remembering to do it.

Here's how it works...When you order something online, first go to www.2ClickFundraising.com. Then, click on Sundling Junior High Music Department. Your second click is on one of the LONG list of merchants willing to donate a portion of your purchase to our music department. This list includes such merchants as Old Navy, Gap, iTunes, Amazon.com, and Borders.
