The first day of school for the 2009-2010 school year is Wednesday, August 23.

Getting Ready for Junior High

One thing that gives kids stress on the first day of junior high is learning to open their locker with a combination lock. To reduce first day of school anxiety by 300%, show your child how to open a combination lock.

Dress Code

Just a reminder about our Student Appearance Policy:

A determination that a student’s dress is inappropriate will be made by the principal, assistant principal, or police liaison officer. The following guidelines are used in determining whether attire is appropriate. They include, but are not limited to:

• No bare midriffs
• No undergarments of any kind showing
• No bare or lace-up backs
• Shoulders must be covered by at least two inches of fabric
• Skirts and shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh
• Tops may not be lower than an imaginary line drawn from armpit to armpit
• No hats or bandannas are to be worn inside the building except when entering or preparing to leave the building unless they are for religious or medical purposes
• Temporary hair coloring, glitter, or other alterations that may cause distractions in the classroom are not permitted
• No night clothes (e.g., pajama pants)
• Mismatched shoelaces

Principal, Mrs. Yvette Davidson~~This is Mrs. Davidson's third year at Sundling. She came to us from Barrington Middle School Prairie Campus where she taught 6th grade math, science, and reading.

Assistant Principal, Mr. Douglas Harter~~Mr. Harter joins us from Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative: Mades-Johnstone Center, St. Charles, where he has served since 2006.
